NASA's Office of External Affairs and Education at Stennis Space Center and the Jackson State University (JSU) School of Education sponsor the Educator Resource Center (ERC) regional site at JSU. The regional ERC at JSU provides expertise and facilities to help educators access and utilize science, mathematics and technology-based instructional products that are aligned with the Mississippi K-12 Curriculum Framework and national education standards and that are based on NASA's unique missions.
The JSU ERC contains a large collection of materials for K-12 educators, and pre-service and informal educators. The free NASA materials include educational multimedia, lesson plans, posters, lithographs, bookmarks and other publications that reflect the most recent scientific discoveries about space, oceans and the Earth. Subjects range from science and geography to meteorology, astronomy, social studies and environmental science.
Educators are invited to stop by the ERC to preview and receive free duplication of NASA videotape instructional products. Many of these award-winning NASA videotape programs are grade-level specific and provide an excellent resource to enhance classroom activities. Professional development workshops in mathematics, science and technology are also offered with Continuing Education Units provided.

NASA and Jackson State University
NASA and JSU have a continuing partnership dedicated to research and education. The NASA-funded grants and collaborations at JSU involve the School of Education and the College of Science, Engineering and Technology.
The School of Education at JSU is primarily responsible for preparing caring, competent and qualified professional educators and support personnel.
This is accomplished through the development, implementation and evaluation of programs in teacher education and other professional areas that support the overall teaching profession and the mission of the university. The School of Education is involved in NASA-funded projects for the Blue Ribbon Schools Project and Project Smile - Science and Mathematics Initiative for Learning Enhancement.
The College of Science, Engineering and Technology administers NASA-funded grants for the Mississippi Space Commerce Initiative; Network Storage Management in the Data Grid Environment; NASA Space Grant College and Fellowship Program; Non-contact Precision Actuation and Structural Control Using Opto-Mechanical Actuators; Pre-College Achievement of Excellence in Mathematics, Science, Engineering and Technology; Science and Technology Enhancement Pre-College Program; and the NASA/Historically Black Colleges and Universities Renewable Energy and Technology Project.
